Description

pinguicula succulent phase Pinguicula laueana – Cedar Bridge BotanicalsButterworts (Pinguicula spp.) are carnivorous! They secrete a sticky mucilage from their leaves that traps small insects like fungus gnats and mosquitoes. This mucilage can give the leaves an oily appearance and feel, shedding some light on the genus name which translates to "little oily one." The flowers on Pinguicula spp. are orchid like and can last for weeks! These plants are very easy to care for and are beginner friendly. For detailed care

Pinguicula laueana is a species found growing naturally in the mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. During its active growing season, it will produce larger, carnivorous leaves that blush dark red or burgundy when grown in bright lighting. When in its dormant phase, the hibernaculum consists of about 30 small, succulent leaves. The scarlet flower this species produces is truly one to behold!

Carnivorous plants are pet safe, so no worries here! These plants are much more dangerous to insects.

Plants will be shipped bare root and are suitable for a 2 to 3 inch pot. Typical potting soil that contains fertilizers are not suitable for carnivorous plants. Carnivorous plant soil can be found here

It looks good. I just wish it was packaged properly so it could be secured , as it was slightly damaged when I received it. But otherwise they look great.
